Bass Marimba
Basses are available in many sizes, with different woods, and are
often built with one of a variety of purposes in mind for the
particular instrument and the environment in which it will be played.
Therefore, basses vary substantially.
The keys can be made of many woods, including Padauk, Honduras
Mahogany, Cherry, Maple, Walnut, Fir and more. Many woods will
work for frames.
Basses vary in size. Some "mini" basses have 4" wide keys. Some
monster basses have keys up to 10" wide!
It is typical however, that a bass will be made with 6" wide keys,
usually from Padauk, Cherry, or Mahogany.
                      "Standard" specifications:
Range: C2 to D3 or E3 , C major scale, 9-10 keys.
Dimensions: BIG. Keys are generally made from 6/4 (1
1/2") thick stock and are 6" wide. Graduating widths
is common.

PVC Resonators sized accordingly are available and can attach in a
number of ways. It is standard for them to be equipped with buzzers.
The legs can detach or fold attached, depending on the instrument.
