Soprano Marimba
Our soprano marimbas have keys (tone bars) that
are generally made out of Padauk. Other woods are
available.
The frames are crafted from various hardwoods
such as poplar, maple, cherry, alder,
honduran mahogany, wenge etc.
                      Standard specifications:
Range: C4-C6, C major scale, 15 keys.
Dimensions: Under 5 feet long (variation due to
range and size of keyboard), ~16" wide at widest
point, and ~5" thick.
Pictured below is one of our standard 15-key soprano marimbas
with padauk keys and a frame of poplar.
The resonators have been removed.

Resonators that hang below the keys amplify the
note and are equipped with buzzers to make the traditional and vital
sound of Zimbabwean music. The resonators and buzzers are
recommended, but of course, are optional.
The options are limitless when choosing a marimba from Padauk Dust. Use
your imagination!
